  • When taken orally, quercetin is likely safe for short-term use at doses up to 1 gram daily for 12 weeks. 
  • The safety of long-term use or higher doses is uncertain.
  • As a supplement, it's likely safe in reasonable short-term doses like 500 milligrams twice a day for 12 weeks, but risks are unknown with longer use. 
  • Side effects may include headaches or tingling in arms and legs.
